Speculation was continuing on the morning of Wednesday 12 March into the cause and likely impacts of the North Sea collision. The 183-m oil tanker Stena Immaculate had been anchored off Withernsea, near Kingston-upon-Hull, when she was struck by the container ship MV Solong at a speed of around 18 knots (33 km/h) at 9.48am on Monday.
