The US could meet its current electricity needs using low-carbon sources by 2035 if the progress made in the past decade continues, according to a new study. The new study, released by the Environment America Research & Policy Center and Frontier Group, states that the US needs to continue to expand its portfolio of renewables (wind, solar, geothermal) by 15% per annum, to achieve the 2035 milestone.
