Research firm Wood Mackenzie says it anticipates the global wind power industry will install 1 TW of new capacity between 2021 and 2030. A major upgrade to the Katrine Aqueduct, which was built in Victorian times and serves more than 1.3 million people in parts of Greater Glasgow and the Scottish central belt, has been completed, according to Scottish Water. For more than a decade, this has been the time of year — the run-up to Earth Day — when I’ve surveyed the public opinion polls, of which there have been many, to assess consumer and citizen trends on environmental issues, notably related to shopping. I started doing this in 2007 and, with a few exceptions, continued it annually through last year.
Following a lead set by firms in industries like food and fashion, Polestar has produced a product sustainability declaration. Swedish performance EV firm Polestar has declared a “moonshot goal” to create “the first truly climate neutral car by 2030.”. The Polestar 0 project will aim to cut carbon emissions by changing the way that cars are made, says the firm, rather than using traditional processes and then planting trees to offset CO2e.
On March 4, MISO filed a request to extend the deadline to implement a market participation model for electric storage resources at FERC. This new request moves the implementation date from June 2022 to March 2025. Whether it is a global pandemic or everyday disruptions, most of us default to reaction and agility when faced with a crisis. “ Climate action does not require economic sacrifice,” wrote Rachel Kyte, then CEO of the Sustainable Energy for All Initiative (SEforAll) in September 2015. Many studies and cases show that climate action does indeed yield economic benefits (see the case of China ).
