Scottish Water has completed work on its first large-scale battery storage project which the utility says will accelerate its drive towards netzero emissions by 2040. Four vanadium flow batteries, manufactured by Invinity Energy Systems, have recently been installed at the waste water treatment works that serve the city of Perth.
Almost 52 million has been awarded to 25 businesses in the UK to support the adoption of innovative emissions-cutting projects, including carbon capture and storage, as part of the government’s Plan for Change, which aims to expedite the energy transition and progress to netzero.
